Sensibilities
The songs from Sensibilities were taken from regular Facebook livestreams during 2020. Each song was improvised using a guitar and some pedals, heavily leaning on looping and freezing sounds, and layering ambience.
-The Corn Field conjures up images of being out of the confinements of your four walls and in the freedom of nature where the calmness of night allows your ears to open up and mind to quieten down.
-We All Come from Somewhere was inspired by the past and family. It reflects on appreciating someone instead of mourning their loss, but also reflects on the inevitable sadness of loss.
-Riding a Kite Over Warsaw tells a story of flying high above devastated Warsaw after WWII during the snowy winter months, taking in the incredible destruction juxtaposed with the near silence of snowfall.
-Watching a Kite Over Warsaw draws on innocent child-like perspective; seeing a colourful kite flying overhead and losing yourself in the hypnotic state of observing simplicity after enduring hardship.
-Icelandic Boat Ride is a contradiction to the soft, rounded edges of the previous songs. Floating with no resolve and confronted with uncertainty until finally coming out on the other side.
